The greatest commandment
We all know that to love God with all your heart, soul and strength is the greatest and first commandment of all time. We've memorized it, learnt it in Sunday school countless times while growing up. But sometimes, the simplest of all commandments to understand can be the most difficult to keep. To truly love Him more than anyone else and anything else in this world is not something that happens overnight. It is a PROCESS. We can learn to love God more each day.
In this blog, we are going to look at some of the ways on how we can put this love into action. It is easier to show another person the love we have for him or her because they are physical beings and we are able to demonstrate that through actions that they can see and in return appreciate. The challenge to love God whom we cannot see and demonstrate that love to, however, is not impossible.

- To love Him more than... is to choose Him above anyone or everything else.
How does that look like? Sometimes, that means choosing His will above ours or what others would have us decide. How do we know His will? The Word of God is a lamp unto our feet and it tells us where we should go and what we should do. He didn't leave us without guidance or direction. We've got to trust Him enough to choose Him and His will even above our own desires. We are able to do this when we have our hope in Him. - To love Him more than... is to give Him everything.
This means even the bad. It's easy for us to give God the good side of our lives, our talents, gifts, our time, etc. But to give Him our broken dreams, broken hearts, broken promises is not as easy. We tend to hide what's ugly and bad. We think He wouldn't be interested in it or we don't trust Him enough to fix it and restore it because we're afraid. Let me tell you that He cares about your feelings, all of it. He cares for the very core of your being. He sees the bad and ugly and He doesn't look away. He wants to heal and restore those parts. We need to learn to love Him more than even our hurts and pain and surrender it to Him, let Him take over. - To love Him more than... is to live for Him.
We can all say that we're living for God. But are our actions reflecting those words? Is your life a living testimony for Him? What does it mean to live for Him? It means my entire life; my breathing, sleeping, walking, working, habits, lifestyle, choices, decisions, sacrifices all point to the fact that I am living for the One who gave me ALL. Our purpose of existence is not only found in words but demonstrated in our actions. The good, the bad, the ugly are all used for His glory and to declare His praises and faithfulness. To not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ, but to stand as a living testimony that is found in Him.
Love Him, my friends. More than anyone else or anything else this world has to offer. There will be no regrets when at the end of the day, after everything has been said and done, and you find yourself in the loving arms of Your Saviour, you'll know it was all WORTH IT!
Wooow, so profound , thanks for the wise words
