5 Lessons of Motherhood:

Becoming a mom is seriously the best feeling and best thing in the world. You can ask any mom that and they'll tell you the same. And as I became a mom, I couldn't wait to teach my little munchkins things about this world and everything that I knew. I soon realized that they were teaching me, too. In their own little cute ways, they taught me many lessons, I'm listing down 5 of them.

1. To live in the present

Kids don't live in the past. They forget you were angry with them yesterday. They forget they won Best Award for Cutest Baby. They don't repeat their past failures or victories like most of us adults do. They don't live in the future, either. They don't plan every single day for the next 10 years. Their goal is to enjoy today and have the most fun today. It will do us some help if we learn to live in the present, too.

2. To forgive people and forget the past

Kids are so good at this. They do not hold grudges. Not even one. They forgive easily because they are too busy having fun with life. There's no time to keep offenses and hold grudges. They just move on and let bygones be bygones.

3. To fully trust God - childlike faith

They just know that Daddy and Mummy will provide for them. All they need to do is ask. Their faith is exquisite. A trust without reservation, knowing full well that will get what they asked for.

4. To live free- without worry.

Ahh... the joys of being a child. God has told us not to worry, for worry is a sin. Why? Worry takes away our freedom in Christ. Children are able to live free because they have no worries. In the same way, God wants us to see Him as Abba Father and not worry about anything.

5. To laugh a little everyday

They laugh for the silliest things. They laugh at everything. We are so serious. Their laughter has taught me to laugh a little everyday and take a moment to laugh even though it is silly.

Have fun with your kids. Life is too short to live in the past, to hold grudges or keep offenses, to worry or to be too serious. I am guilty of all of the above but with my children's help, I can live differently, learning to see things from a child's point of view. Don't let motherhood slip you by too quickly, treasure and learn new things everyday.
