When heaven is silent
Do you feel that God is silent sometimes? You've been faithful, you've been good, you've read the Word everyday, you've worshipped, you've been generous with your finances. I mean, you've done everything you know to do but heaven is silent to your pleas. There seems to be no action coming out of heaven. There are times in our lives where God seems silent. Or like heaven is blind and deaf.
I bet God's very own people, the Israelites, felt that way back in the day when they were taken as slaves to Egypt and were terribly treated. Where was God? Why didn't He quickly come to deliver His people? Why was there a period of waiting? I wonder how they would have felt like. Not many understand that the'waiting period' is where diamonds are made. Its in the 'waiting period' that God is able to do what only He can do. We don't understand that sometimes God waits so that 'this can be a testimony that brings glory to His name! Heaven is silent sometimes so that we have the opportunity to GROW in the areas that we are weak in; the circumstances forcing us to rely on God more than anyone else or anything in this world.
Life is unplanned, unpredictable and exciting. It is never the same season throughout. Bad things happen, good things happen. Sometimes, bad things happen to good people. They don't deserve it. But that's life. There are many things that are out of our control. The important thing to know and hold onto when heaven is silent is that 'God is a good God'. It doesn't matter what we feel like because our human emotions are fickle. So why rely on our fickle emotions? Choose to rely and put your trust in an unshakeable God. Choose to change your perspective and look at your circumstance through the lens of heaven. Choose to continue speaking life and framing your world with His promises, His thoughts, His purposes for your life, rather than what people say.
Do not give up when heaven is silent. 'Silence is not denial'. 'Silence' is often part of the process of something being worked on behind the scenes. Silence is a testimony that is being written in heaven before it becomes action on earth. Do not misunderstand His silence as rejection. Do not misunderstand His silence as disapproval of you. That is exactly what the enemy wants us to start thinking and believing. Oh but we cannot be ignorant about his devices. We must GROW in and through all our circumstances, changing to be wiser and more powerful to defeat the lies that so often cripples us. I'm convinced that God loves to surprise His children. If you wait and hold onto Him, believing that He is a good God, He will surely surprise you with the best. Nothing short. Just hang on.
